So, we’re just going to say it, Raiden’s coming to EVO. Or..[Updated]

So, forget the filler dialogue, forget the “What could this mean?!” speculation that leads into a long winded paragraph where we state the OBVIOUSLY OBVIOUS, we’ll just break it down as professionally as possible. A cryptic photo posted to the Mortal Kombat Facebook page proved to be about as distracting to gamers as Lebron James holding out on which team he would select during the World Cup finals would have been to sports fans.

Our guess? Raiden. The omnipresent god of thunder has seen his fair share of Mortal Kombats, even appearing in more series  titles than Liu Kang himself, but given his pivotal role in MK9, we would hedge most bets on his emminent return to what’s looking to be the defining title of the series.

…Or, in a twist that would DEFINITELY be surprising, it could be Fujin, first seen in Mortal Kombat Mythologies, later in Mortal Kombat 4 as the playable God of Wind.

Fujin MKA1

Both are definitely a possibility, but while Raiden is almost a definite bet due to the events of MK9 , Fujin wouldn’t be too far off the mark either, given the allusions to characters Shinnok that were also present in that game’s ending.

Boon loves to tease, however. We’ll be back on tap with an update as soon as he takes the wind out of the Injustice finals at EVO this weekend, 12pm Pacific, 3pm Eastern.

[Update] – Video above (Source: Kotaku). Raiden confirmed.

…We still want us some Fujin.
