Yes? Sony.

E3 2016: The Sony Conference (Liveblog)

OMGZ SONY JUST WO–

…Oops, I’m getting ahead of myself here, aren’t I?

It’s no secret among any of us here that Sony and their Playstation brand of products are a critical and public darling of E3 every year. Whether it’s through cleverly timed positioning that sees them finally getting a leg up on the competition similar to catching Microsoft with their pants down during E3 2013, or the frequent and numerous third and first-party exclusives that capture the minds (some would say wallets) of gamers worldwide, they always seem to come out on top each year. Social media explodes, trailers and live footage dominate the newsfeeds of gamers everywhere no matter their allegiance, and the proclaimed death of any console whose manufacturer doesn’t rhyme with “Bony” are always sticking points year after year.

It’s not as if they haven’t earned it, however. Twenty years of being an industry mainstay with a penchant for whetting the tastes of gamers of all ages will do that for you. Having a stellar stable of first-party studios and unprecedented third-party allegiances will do that for you. It’s simply easy to trust that Sony will do right, even when they’re selling you a $600 dollar console with a straight face. It’s very easy to trust Sony, even when much of what they announce may or may not be released this year, most gamers will sit content, so long as the promise of what they know will be AMAZING eventually comes out.

(Unless of course, your game is called The Order: 1886.)

With Uncharted 4‘s release safely behind us however, it’s time to look forward, and realize the end of last fall’s exclusive drought is finally upon us. With highly anticipated titles the likes of a new God of War game being rumored, The Last Guardian perhaps finally getting the release date it deserves, and hopefully more details on the upcoming PSVR headset (But no news on Neo, frown), there’s a lot to look forward to this year.

What are InfernalPenguins?

InfernalPenguins are resilient beings who waddle through life with a sense of wonder and unshakable humor, despite their chthonic beginnings.

They are frequently found obsessively pouring through the latest in games, tv, film and culture with a glee only possessed by children and flightless birds. This is where they share their journey through this strange world.
